Coxsackie virus is ridiculously contagious. IIRC, it's contagious before you even realize your kid has it. One of my kids has had it twice. Are you kids feeling icky or do they just have blisters? My ds just had blisters but was otherwise fine. Count your blessings that this is all it was.

According to my ped, most kids catch it the same way they catch other viruses- one kid coughs or sneezes, and the other picks up those nasty viruses when she touches the toy/table/doorknob the droplets landed on. It is contagious before blisters appear, so parents would have no way of knowing to isolate the sick child.

Refuah shelaima!

My son just got over it. I didn't even know what it was. He was fine besides that his feet were really really itchy.

It's going round n round in my bungalow colony. Some kids are extremely cranky, with temperature, and others are more or less ok with some blisters

OP, your daughter must have the blisters in her mouth. Don't give her anything sour, like pickles or orange juice. Refua Sheleima, and keep washing their hands.

Unfortunately, I have way to much experience with this virus! (once had it with my 1 yr. old and 2 yr. old at the same time!)
-It will pass!!!! Although while you are going through it, it seems like you wont make it, it passes!
- I found, that the second and third day were the worse- after that it just gets better.
-They do not sleep and even when they fall asleep they wake up soon after they in worse moods, cuz the sores hurt more when they get dried out-(while sleeping)
- The only thing that stopped them from crying was wheeling them in the carriage.
-Dont try to give them food, just make sure they drink stuff like Gatorade and ice cream/ices.

Good Luck!!

Thanks baker2 the doctor also said to give them tons of ices. But it is no fun it's my twins and you know how these things work when one gets something they both get it. So now I am dealing with two cranky children who can't sleep.

If her mouth is sore...it follows that she's having a hard time sleeping. I give motrin in these instances.

Definitely Motrin will help.

Also be aware that adults can catch it! I got it once from my baby who got it in daycare. (Twice that summer.) it was dreadfully uncomfortable. In fact I had it over Tisha B'Av and was so miserable and feverish I was told not to fast.

All I could eat was dairy. Everything else felt horrible in my mouth. It burned. So no juice!! Just milk and water, yogurt, ice cream, etc.

Refuah shleimah and wash your hands every time you go near them!
