my 2 and a half year old girl know how to make in the toilet. for a few days she actually was trained mostly but then we went away alone for a few days and she regressed.
so I put her diaper back on and here and there ill try again and put panties on her. when I take her to the toilet she goes, but if I dont, she usually just has an accident. she either forgets or she's just not motivated, interested...(even though I give her treats when she does).
do I try more incentives and get it done since she really knows how to go and just gets lazy?
or should I just put her diaper back on and wait till she's older?
with my older ones, as soon as they knew how to go I took their diapers off and didnt look back...so this concept is new for me.
anyone btdt?

take off the diaper and put her on the potty/toilet on a regular schedule. don't expect her to tell you she needs to go. that'll come once she gets used to the routine.

I have a 2.5 yr old DD as well. Going through toilet training now. She hasn't pooped in 3 days because she's not used to doing on the toilet. What is there to do?

As mummiedearest said, take off her diaper and take her on a regular schedule. Try setting a timer at half hour intervals so she knows you'll take her when she hears the ring. I usually give a little something after they've made on the toilet. You'll need to set aside a few days to be on top of it, and remember to be persistent.
Good Luck

I disagree. We don't rush our children into walking, we don't rush them into talking when we think they know how but are just "lazy" and *toilet training* should be just the same. Trust that there will come a time when your child will want to use the toilet and be ready to help her when she is, not before. Toilet training should not be so much work for you. If it is, she is not ready.

thanks guys...I like the approach of the mother above. I think ill wait a while and then try again....no reason to stress over this. im hoping by then other kids in the playgroup will be toilet trained and she'll be more interested. just bec she knows how doesnt necessarily mean shes ready I guess.

dont want to kill myself taking her every hour at home for a week and then have her go right back to her accidents....id rather wait.
plus, I cant be at home all day its not good for my mental health.
