Looking for an English sefer to learn with dd who's IYH becoming bas mitzvah Purim time. Any suggestions? She goes to an OOT BY. We're very chilled OOT style yeshivish. I would love to learn something that gets into why we believe what we believe, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not. All advice appreciated - thanks!

Since it's around Purim, you could try Maharal on Megillat Esther or "The Queen You Thought You Knew," by R. David Froman.

Sefer HaChinuch is available in English translation and will offer a real foundation in learning.

Thank you, these are good ideas (mostly). I will look into them.
