I do I make my text into a straight line? I tried to use the ruler but it isn't working.

what do you mean straight line? how else does the text come out, slanted? do you mean justified/even on the right side?

on the formatting toolbar (right click on the main toolbar to access all the other toolbars) use the button with all even horizontal lines
