well, you got good old dreidle, use pennies for betting or something
pin the shamash on the menorah
you can make up a taboo like game with chanuka names and words
or charades
a latkea decorating contest

are you a big family, or just you and the in law parents?
one year we did the Newlywed game - LOADS of fun !!
this year im planning on taboo - which could work even if its a small crowd. I'm doing Jewish / holiday themed cards as well as things that have to do specificlaly with our family ...
For hte little kids I had a thought to do "pin the shamash on the menorah" ... you can do a "cut the chocolate" with Dreidel.. (If you dont know this game I can explain how it works).
If youre ok with presents, you can do an unwrap it game, where they have to do soemthing silly in between the layers....
Good luck ! happy planning !

So this is how the game works:
- kids sit in a circle. In the middle of the circle is a plate with a bar of chocolate, a fork and a plastic knife.
- kids go around the cirlce with a dreidel.... each kid spins. If it lands on a gimmel, that kid jumps up, puts on a funny hat and/or jacket/ costume type thing (if you have... can be something chanukah related etc... we've done this for purim also).
- he runs to the middle and starts to cut a piece of chocolate..... meanwhile, the kids are continuing to spin the dreidel ... so the kid in the middle has to rush to cut a piece of chocolate, make a bracha and eat it, before another kid hits the gimmel and has to go back to his seat while the new kid gets a turn....
ive done it a few times with various holidays and the kids LOOOOOVE it.
It just occurred to me, that this game would work wonderfully with adults as well - perhaps with some alcohol beverage instead of chocolate
