We are yeshivish .... but not the typical family life. We are older - think nearing 50 ..but only have young kids (got married late). I think if we are with a young crowd, we would stand out (but kids would enjoy). If we are with an older crowd, our kids wouldn't belong.
From a financial aspect - since we are from out of town and day camps here dont cost as much as in NY it would cost us around $2000 for the whole summer to send all our kids to camp. I think a bungalow even for 1 month would cost more. Am I correct?
So .. do we belong in the mountains? Part of me wants to go ... give the kids a great time, get away ....but I also realize that we might not fit in anywhere.
Thoughts?

some pp go to monsey, to get good air like a bungalow idea, and they send the kids to day camp and you still could find some pp to have a chat with. there are alot of swimming pools there. so you could find the crowd you like. I dont know specifics. as I dont live there. but I know someone who has her in laws there and rented a place in the summer. sent her kids to day camp and found a crowd she was okay with. remember this is only 8 weeks. it goes by quicker then you think.

I believe most bungalow colonies have some older couples and some younger ones with kids, so you should be fine. However, bungalows tend to cost at least $2000 for half a summer, usually more. There are a couple of places that might be just $2000 for one half.
