New City has a very small frum community consisting of a few blocks. Otherwise, there are many Jews there who consider themselves Reform or Conservative. There are Jewish day schools or Hebrew schools associated with Reform & Conservative Congregations. It's around 20 minutes from Monsey/Spring Valley and used to have one kosher restaurant. There is a Chabad house there. I will try to post more information.

Northbrook is on the Clarkstown/Spring Valley/New City border. It isn't really considered New City. And yes, there are chasidish families buying there now.

I hear new city is a mix of right wing yeshivish and chassidish. No left wing families.
