hi So im making a bar mtizvah shabbos but dont plan on making a party. How do I have extended family pics if everyone is coming erev shabbos?

You can ask them to arrive in time to be ready x amount of time before Shabbos. Then you take pictures before Shabbos while everyone looks nice. If this doesn't work, you can take them after Shabbos .

We did that by my nephwes bar mitzva.

If everyone is coming in Erev Shabbos I don't know how realistic that is that they should all be ready for pictures before Shabbos. I know my family would have a hard time with that if we were coming in from OOT for a simcha. Motzei Shabbos can be quite late though. Are people sticking around until Sunday morning? I would make a farewell brunch and ask them to come dressed nicely for pictures, when they'll be calm and rested.
