(DS is completely overtired and hysterical, but it's dinnertime and I want to get some calories into him before he goes to sleep)
Me: "DS, come eat dinner."
DS: (sobbing/shrieking) "I want to sit lap!!!!"
Me: "Here, you can sit on my lap!"
DS: "NOOOOOO!!!!"
DH: "Do you want to sit on my lap?"
DS: "DON'T WANT TO SIT LAP!!!"
Me: "Do you want to sit by yourself?"
DS: (snot running down his face, eyes brimming with tears) "I WANT TO SIT MY OWN LAP!!"
