I've been invited to a Shabbos meal with this theme in honor of Independence Day. I offered to make something. Need ideas. Preferably not dessert and definitely nothing involving artificial food color. Thanks!

A salad? Couscous or quinoa with blueberries and strawberries?

I was thinking to do that with quinoa. But how do you keep the blueberries from bleeding all over the grains and turning the whole thing purple? Is there some trick to this?

Do you eat eggs every Shabbos? If so, you can dye half of the eggs blue with blueberries (it requires A LOT) and leave half of them white. Eggs are typically served with veggies on the side so you have red peppers, red tomatoes, and white radish. Doesn't sound very appetizing, but it sounds like that's not necessarily the goal anyways and it's not off putting.
If you did dessert you could do blueberries, strawberries & cream in a frozen pop.

Righto. Junky version--blue potato chips (Terrachips make one), red potato chips (sweetpotato or beets, also from Terrachips, separate before Shabbat as they come mixed) and regular potato chip. Or you can do three coloured Jell-O in cups.

omg! where do you find these potatoes? I'll be following this thread, I'm also looking for red-white-blue stuff. One friend suggested purple cabbage, apparently it turns blue when it's cooked. So maybe in a stir fry with red peppers, over white rice?

Peeled hardboiled eggs become red when soaked in beet juice for enough time. Maybe overnight.
And leave some white.
Presented on a bed of blue corn chips.
Those, you would eat with salsa, which is red.

Bring something red and white and serve on a blue platter. There's only so much you can do with blueberries in a non-dessert dish.
