I forgot to to buy meat for the cholent. I think I have pepper steak in the freezer. Any way for that to work? I put in marrow bones also.

Honestly, any type of meat in chulent works. If it is a very lean piece of meat, the marrow bones should make up for it in fat, but I've added some oil if the only meat I had was too lean.

skip the meat ...it can be delicious with sauteed onions. I've done it and it was even better. If you have kishka add to the chulent for a rich flavor.

op here-thanks so much for the responses. in the end when I opened my freezer the first thing I saw was stew meat! so in it went. We are having company so I hope it turns out good!
