BDE

I'm adding a PSA about rip tides: if caught in a rip tide, you shouldn't fight it by trying to swim towards shore. You will wear yourself out. It will carry you out away from the beach. Signal for help but don't wear yourself out.

Swim parallel to the beach if you can. Rip tides aren't wide and if you get to the edge you can get out of the current. Then you can try to swim back in or float until help arrives. Relax as much as you can. Don't panic and rest by floating as needed.

It actually said in the news that this beach is basically deserted (which is most likely why they were at that specific one) and the watchtower was empty. It's not manned by lifeguards.
