I want to make his salmon with Carmelized lemon. He tells to us star anise. Anyone bought this in Jewish store? What is it? ( I will check on Google) I just never saw this in any store. Can I leave it out?

What they said above.
You'd probably recognize it from the Pesach besamim mix

Ra mom did you actually see it in the pesach besomim? I never thought they were edible. I will check In the stores but they usually put them together with nonedible cloves. Have u used it?

Sure! They're dried fruits used to flavor.
Cloves are not inedible either They're not really meant for sniffing They're meant to flavor foods and are usually ground and sprinkled on foods (ground cloves) or used whole to flavor liquids as they cook.
You can buy a full bottle of star anise in the spice aisle.

I've coked with star anise and like the flavor. It's quite distinctive.
It's a hard dried spice and so it is either retrieved or ground.
If you have ever used five spice powder, it's one of the ingredients and very distinctive. I have a salmon and spaghetti squash recipe I make relatively often.
If a dish lists as an ingredient, I would not omit because it would be one of the key flavors and the dish would not resemble the recipe if omitted.

very strong flavor. you could use fennel seed instead, which is generally easier to find in kosher stores, in my experience.
