On shabbat I usually make chummus and ground beef as a dish but mine always contained cinnamon etc. and was fairly sweet. we went to israel and had some fabulous chummus with ground beef that was very savory with no cinnamon. Looking to replicate. does anyone have a recipe?
Thanks so much!

Just fry up an onion or 2, add the ground beef, some tomato puree and wine, and you're done. Season with salt n pepper.

I saute chop meat in the pan (which I just sauteed onions in, but take onions out becasue kids don't like onions).
Lots of spices: onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, a drop of spicy paprika and lots of cumin. I heat it up and add it to the chummus.
Always a hit!

There was a recipe in one of the magazines once that replicated Entrecote (a Jerusalem restaurant)'s chummus and ground beef. I should have it. If I come across it I'll try to post it.
