the state of Florida is officially clear of zika but the cdc has a warning for Miami-Dade county because thats where the majority of Zika cases were. Orlando never had Zika. I would go.

I would only go if my ob said it's perfectly okay. I'm going to ask about pesach, as my whole family goes for pesach. If ob says it's ok, I'll probably go

I hope you never have to deal with microcephaly.
And I hope you don't have a heart attack or get diabetes.

Thanks for your replies! I use a OB group and every dr. seems to have a different opinion. One said out of miami area is ok. Another one said it's risky...
Ps..I really don't believe the zika scare is a hoax.

I wish you the best of health!
I know many adults with small heads/no brains, aka politicians.
Can you please explain to me
(1) How a virus that we know of since 1947, suddenly becomes the cause of microcephaly ?
(2) How in Colombia, which has the second-largest number of reported Zika cases. But of more than 12,000 pregnant Colombian women with Zika, only 21 have had fetuses or babies with the brain defects
http://www.theglobeandmail.com.....8428/
(3) How there are thousands of micro cases in USA for several years without zika ?

And so getting a few more here will help how?
Seriously, I live in South Florida. There is nothing going on here. It's safe. There is no Zika. If you are still nervous by all means don't come here but I really wish people would stop posting these questions. It is NOT helpful to get more opinions on this topic and beat it to death. Sorry, OP. Not meaning to take it out on you.... it's just that there have been like 20+ threads asking the same thing already in just the past few weeks and it's depressing to keep reading this nonsense.

In the summer I was told not to go by my ob and other people so I cancelled my trip. I think now it's different though. It's winter. Less mosquitos and they sort of contained it

This reminds me of when Americans are afraid to travel to israel after we hear about terrorist attacks while Israelis laugh at us and think we're crazy. When we hear alot about something we just become afraid. That's human nature.

Orlando is a few hours away from Miami. They haven't found Zika in Miami for over 45 days. I doubt there is any problem in Orlando. If you're worried about going, then don't go, but there really shouldn't be an issue.

None of your links are to reputable websites.
I have seen plenty of alarming statistics with regard to percent chance of a women with Zika giving birth to a child with birth defects. I'm not interested in going through the hassle of posting links. If you don't want to believe it, fine. That's your loss.

I went to Orlando in the beginning of November, being 3 months pregnant. My OBGYN didn't let me go to Miami but said Orlando is totally fine.
