Wouldn't it be nice to write a review ?

You getting a break, they could use it.

It's against Amazon policy as of recently.
I don't want to take the chance of getting my review privileges taken away. I already got a warning.

If a discount code was given.

It used to be permitted if you wrote a disclaimer that you were given the product for free or that you were given a coupon code, but apparently it's not allowed anymore.

Thank you for notifying me, if that is the case how can seller expect a reiew anyway?

A review can be given if no code was given etc...
But that makes it really hard for new sellers to build up their profile because in the past they used to give out promotional codes to attract attention to their product.
Now they have no way of collecting reviews (besides for the random person that will come across the product, purchase it and leave a review).

I think their reasoning is that they want the reviews to be completely unbiased.

Yes reviews on Amazon can be biased.
Besides for people getting free items or items at a reduced price for their review, there's another way as well. Sometimes when someone posts a negative review, the seller will offer the buyer a free product. Then the reviewer will feel bad and change their bad review, without the seller asking for them to change it outright.
