We will be in NYC from Pesach til Shvuot and I'd like to get an inexpensive no-frills prepaid phone plan. It mustn't be a smartphone. A flip-phone is ok (is that what they're called?)

I prefer Verizon or Page Plus, though am open to others.

I'm thinking around $25 a month, and am wondering if there may be a less expensive plan.

Anyone here is in the know about these matters?

Selectel is the new company that they are using which also runs on Verizon.

I believe Verizon has a prepaid monthly plan that is within that amount.

It depends how many minutes/texts messages you want. I have Verizon prepaid and pay $30 a month for unlimited talk and text. But if you don't need unlimited I'm sure you can get for cheaper

I want it mostly for phone calls, and maybe two to five hundred texts.

metro PCS $30 a month plus phone ... I think they even have a deal on a rebate towards a variety of phones so you won't even have to worry about that being too costly

I have puretalk USA- I have bare bones so it's less minutes then you want but maybe they'll have a good plan for you.
