Is it irresponsible to take a shower in the master bathroom with the door unlocked while my three year old is watching tv in my room. I say to him, "I am taking a quick shower, you can come in if you need to." I have never seen him budge from the screen unless I turn it off.

I would say lock your bedroom door so that he stays in your bedroom.

sounds fine, but maybe lock the door to your bedroom so he doesnt leave the room.

Make the shower quick and go ahead.

Five minute shower? No big deal.
I wouldn't lock the bedroom door though.

Don't lock him in the room. That's dangerous. Otherwise perfectly fine. And I would leave the bathroom door open.

I leave the bathroom door open, just so I can hear over the shower if anything comes up, or if he gets up.

In the neighborhood I live in there are kids (ok only some kids) crossing/playing in the street at that age enjoy your shower. At three I wasn't watching my kid like a hawk anymore.

Totally fine, I don't even see what the issue would be.

I wouldn't do that, but mostly because I'd prefer to enjoy long peaceful showers secure in the knowledge that my children are asleep in their beds and/or crib or in the charge of a capable adult or older child. That significantly decreases the chances that I'll be disturbed mid shower. Because you know kids wait until you have the conditioner in your hair and only one leg shaved before deciding they need you and only you right this minute.
If I was just taking a emergency "the baby just spit up down the front of my shirt and had an explosive poopy diaper on my lap and I have to go out in public" shower then I would make sure the toddler is safe and distracted and do what I need to do.
