I lived in an apartment where the whole entire place was tile. It wasn't my personal taste, but it was extremely easy to clean. I did have to put area rugs down though because of the noise.

We put a vinyl wood-look floor in our living dining room in the basement apartment that we rent out. It's very common where I live (Lakewood) and is easy to maintain.
I did not like tile when we had that in our previous apartment because the grout got dirty

Something soft and easy to clean. We have hardwood but vinyl planks are popular right now and fit this description.
