No idea what luxury means..? But I have one set from when I got married 9 years ago that had held up beautifully despite getting lots of use. The fabric gets softer without tearing, the buttons are intact, it hasn't faded, still love it.

Luxury linen has a high thread count and is usually 100% cotton. That's what makes it soft.
Often they are more delicate, and do not necessarily last longer than the less expensive linen. They often need more ironing.

I once slept at a friend who had linen that was exceptionally soft. Hadn't had such a comfortable sleep in a long time.

My biggest bedding luxury is a custom made sensory heavy blanket. I sleep like a baby now! Worth every penny a million times over.
The best bedding I've ever slept on, was in a boutique bed and breakfast in Germany. Pure down pillows, a down mattress cover, and down comforter - all in super high thread count white sheets. It was like sleeping surrounded by clouds. Bliss!

I have a set from Ben Barber and one from Bliss Living, high thread count (don't remember what) and 100% cotton. It's super soft and always comfy but some of the sheets have faded in color after four years.
They were about $600 a set ($300 a bed I think).

A few years ago I won a set of tapestry linen at a chinese auction. It was beautiful and the underside was a very soft, silky feel. Alas, the quality did not hold up to the looks. Within 2 years or so the fabric practically shredded and felt apart.
I would not spend money on such a set. It's not worth it.
