I started turning on the dryer before I fold the laundry to reheat it, since I began liking the feeling of hot laundry when I fold it due to my carpal tunnel syndrome. It just feels so good on my hands! Recently though, the laundry started smelling burnt if it stayed in the dryer for too long which sometimes happens when I forget about it a few times... And the smell stays on the clothes! could it be im burning my laundry?! Its the small pleasures in housekeeping which keeps me going But not if im destroying the laundry on the way...

Yes of course you can be burning your laundry. Take care you don't start a fire. That's what happens when you apply intense dry heat to combustible material, which clothing is.

Why not add in a small wet towel to add moisture to the dryer?
Also make sure your vents leading out of your house all all clean

And invest in rubber gloves and hand wash your dishes in hot water rather than risk setting your house afire.
