I recently stored a lot of books in the basement and found worms in the books, how do I get rid of the worms? Is it a lost cause?

Wrap the books in plastic and put in the freezer for a few days. Spread the books out so you don't have a big solid block of books acting as insulation for the ones in the middle. Of course you'll have to clean out the frozen corpses afterwards.

I'm not sure whether or not this will kill any eggs. Inspect the books every few days to see if anything has hatched. If yes, refreeze.

Don't bring them up to your home until you're a hundred percent sure there's no vermin in there.

Personally, I wouldn't try it. If you can, get rid of them. They can spread really, really badly.

Put them in plastic bags with some moth flakes or a flea collar. Leave them there for a week and air in the sun. Were you able to identify the larvae?

I thought the worms were coming from the books, but actually they were coming from a crack in the house. It's sealed now and haven't seen them anymore baruch Hashem.
