My daughter was involved in a car accident. I shouldn't say a car accident really an incident with the car.
She was driving on the highway and she wasn't sure if she had to get off the exit she slow down then she's decided not to go that exit and she starts driving faster and she heard a crash behind her she looked back and she saw the car behind her crashed into the exit barrier.
She stopped to make sure that everyone was OK and she kind of said that it was her fault that the person crashed.
Now she got a letter from the person who's car crashed saying that they know that it wasn't her fault but because they are having financial difficulties could she contribute something to pay for the car. I'm going to be speaking to a lawyer but I was just wondering what everyone would do in A situation like this.
If it makes a difference we are in the tri-state area

Do these people know you? Do you know them? How did they know where to send the letter?
I'd definitely be calling a lawyer first thing tomorrow morning.

No we don't know theses people.
I don't know how they got our address there was a police report maybe from that
They sent pictures of their family and kids.

You are already planning on consulting a lawyer, which would have been my first advice.
