I am looking for a Jewish film I watched about 15 years ago in a hotel.

I don't remember if it was in Hebrew or English.
I don't remember the story.
The only thing I remember is that there were bad guys selling lemons, thinking it was esroigim. And then the lemons being thrown onto people on the street.

Does anyone have a clue which film it is?

Anonymous because my sisters know I'm posting it here.

I remember in Ushpizin the visitor thought the super expensive esrog was a lemon and chopped it up for a recipe...

Thanks for your reply!

The thought of the person tasting the food with the chopped up esrog really made me smile!

The one I'm referring to is (I think) two bad guys had lemons and they tried selling it. Jewish men were smirking when they saw it. I really don't remember much more... but I'd love to see it again for the memories it brings along with it...

אושפיזין
Personally I thought it was kind of PG13 or more. I didn't watch the whole thing because I felt it wasn't so appropriate but its cleaner than other ones out there.

I'm not familiar with the one you're referring to.
The one I'm looking for is definitely clean and appropriate for heimish'e kids.

Watched it as a kid but when I rewatched as a teen I realized there's language, and basically it's not a kids movie. May fly over kids heads though...

Yes I remember that scene, though don't remember the name of it. I think it was a Gil by the grabose brothers. A few names that might be it:
Jewish soul
Wheel of fortune
Zero hour

possible. but I really don't think so. It was probably a Greentec DVD or a Netzitzot shel kedusha or Growise...

It could've been in Hebrew. I watched many Hebrew films as well.

It's this tiny piece of memory that popped up in my head and is begging to see it again:)

Thanks everyone for your time!!

I might be mistaken, but I think the DVD is called in Hebrew מארב מתוכנן
I think it's from achim growise.
What I remember about it - two bad guys, one of them slightly nuts, are looking to "earn" money, they sell "grottes" sheets of metal and boards, pipes, rust metal pieces e.t.c

then they slightly crazy man has an idea that it's Erev Sukkos in the chareidi neighborhood so they should sell lemons aka esrogim. thinks thje frum won't know the difference.
They try it, the frum Jews throw the lemons at them and chase them away.

walking through the streets they see a new beautiful building that was just built, on the building it says the name of donor. these men look up address of rich donor. dressed up as 2 policemen they kidnap him. hold him locked up in a small hideway in their apt.

await in donors apt. until his son comes home, ambush him and as for ransom money ...
warns son not to tattle on them b/c then he won't see his father again.

son's good friend notices he's very nervous e.t.c asks him whasamatter? son won't tell b/c afraid won't see father again.

the friend spies on him and also notices one of the 2 men who picks up part of ransom money at appointed place - hole in a wall. man dresses up as ceazy cleaner. the friend decides to act crazy too and talks about seeing spies e.t.c

anyway to cut this short: son's friend finds out where these men live.
I don't remember how film ends exactly. I think they rope in the police and one night throw smoke bombs thru window of 2 men apt. break in with police, arest men, release father.

story end that father says that even though one is rich and can donate to build big shuls, buildings e.t.s one shouldn't flaunt one's wealth but keep quiet about it.

Hope this is of help.

Hatzlacha.

Gut Mo'ed.
