Alot of babies were named Maya after Yom Kippur war it stands for Milchemt Yom Kippur. But then it is spelled Mem Yod Hay.

Maya in Hebrew spelled mem-aleph-yud-heh is an acronym for Me'Et Hashem Hi (she is from G-d)

I like Naava best. Maya doesn’t really seem like a Jewish name, and Eliana is a popular Christian name these days.

Wow. I didn't know that about Eliana....
I guess I'd also go with Naava then. Not only is it a biblical word- it evokes two of the most beautiful books of tanach: Shir Hashirim and Tehillim.
Regarding Maya - It wouldn't be an option for me, especially since there are so many beautiful and less contrived water themed names that are authentically Hebrew.
