My husband left Manhattan at 12:30 and got to Monticello at 2:40. Ten minute delay.
This sure was overrated!

Baruch HaShem. Many years ago my mother was stuck on the highway with my siblings and some relatives on an Erev Shabbos with major delays. They stayed for four hours stuck on the GW Bridge. Many people didn’t make it to the mountains that Shabbos. My mother got to a hotel off the highway by Shkia. She missed my brothers Bar Mitzvah kiddush which took place in his camp in the mountains. My father had gone straight from Manhattan and he got there but my mother who went from Brooklyn didn’t and she had all his Shabbos clothes and his shtreimel. That Friday night the Rebbe in Monroe sent out a trailer to pick up all stranded women and children from the highway on Shabbos as it was deemed a Sakana for them . The men had to stay. This happened almost 30 years ago.
