We travel to Israel each year for Lag Baomer. We understand that it will likely not be possible now. Does anyone know if there are exceptions for US passport holders to travel to Israel and if so what are they? Also, do you know when Israel will be allowing US citizens entry into Israel again? Where can I see this information online?

No exceptions unless someone has an israeli spouse or child and then they need to fill out forms and affidavits and it takes a few days to process. As of now everyone coming in has to be quarantined in a hotel for 2 weeks. No idea when israel will open it's borders but I'm assuming not for months. no clue where this is online.

Oy, I'm commiserating right along with you. We too, travel yearly for lag baomer. Our flight was scheduled to leave on this past Tuesday, but here we are, upset and yearning.
We were told only Israeli citizens are allowed entry, then if you are a citizen they test you upon entry. If you test positive you have to quarantine in one of the designated quarantine hotels, so there goes your lag baomer. And even if you do test negative, they dispatched 1,000 mishtara and security so that no one can get into Meron unless you live in Moshav or are a special dignitary/rabbi with a special escort and pass.
Can you check off all these boxes?

I'm sorry.
There is a rough estimate that Israel will open borders around September, but that may be limited to source countries whom also have the Coronavirus under control. Right now, there is no definite information.
I doubt it will make you feel better, but: lag b'omer will be different here too this year. Meron is closed. There is a country-wide ban on fires (even on your private property) from today through the day after lag b'omer, with heavy fines attached for violators. Everyone is still encouraged (though not required) to stay home , and you're only allowed to visit family members with a mask on. It's going to be a while until things are normal again.
However, there will be a limited lag b'omer ceremony at the kever, and it will be broadcast live. You'll be able to see it as much as I will.

The NYC metro area is a virus-infested mess.
I think it will be a while before we allow flights from there, unless reliable tests with rapid turnaround times are availablegor passengers.
