Lotte, I don't want to be one of those pushy do-it-yourself-ers, but cheesecake is easy to make. I promise you, a homemade one will beat any bakery cheesecake, 99% of the time.

(I say 99% because I once worked at a bakery that specialized in cheesecakes, and they were fantastic)

I make cheesecake all the time, but none taste like theirs. They must put some exotic flavoring into it or chemicals we don't want to know we're eating, but it's really good.

Still looking...
I have tons of recipes too but I am too lazy to bake one..
Last night I tried Spoons.
They call in Halva cheese cake-I almost melted when I heard the name because I love halva! Wink
But the only Halva was a few tiny flakes on top of the chocolate.
Help!

No suggestions about where to buy one...I think they all fall short of homemade.

I make 2 at a time (one bowl, no mess) and freeze one. I've been so dissapointed with bakery cheesecakes. You seem to have tried a lot of options.

I should FedEx you a slice of mine...your search would be over.
Wink

(and I'm not a reall do-it-yourselfer.... I LOVE bakery things - from the bakery, but cheesecake isn't one of them.)

I realize I have been less than helpful...just rambling here.

And I think you should make a mini documentary about the search for the perfect cheesecake....I think your list is hilarious (because it's so long...)you are definitely on a mission!

If you find it, TELL US!!!!
Very Happy

I'm not a cheesecake connoisseur at all, but have you tried My Most Favorite Dessert in manhattan? They charge enough that it should be the best and I though it was yummy.

The reason I don't like the bakery ones is because they use cheese powder form and not real cheese!so it tastes powdery and not real!
The only GOOD cheese cakes I had in my life were in Israel:Angel's bakery & the different hotels.
should I fly? Scratching Head
