Here we are, thinking your kids are going to a wedding, but you're saying it's a Kiddush on Shabbos. You can totally go with any of the 3 kidichic dresses you bought already and your kids will not be under dressed. If you want the dressiest look - the roses and tulle one would be perfect. Add a large bow headband and patterned tights. They'll be good to go.

I know it's "only a kiddush" but because of corona there won't be anything else, and it's the first simcha in my immediate family in many years and is very long awaited. (the black tulle with the roses in the sleeves runs short and baggy, so they sizing didn't work out. In order to cover their knees I had to size two sizes up and the dresses hung like potato sacks)

In December? Nonono. In February? Perfectly fine. Even better if you embellish it with a pink or yellow sash instead of the green.

The Dillard's ones!! But the green DEF better than the shein suggestions. And agree with poster about switching out sash.

But yes, my extended (very out of town, mostly not american) family and in law family don't go for the european/trendy editorial look and would be wondering why my girls aren't in shabbos dresses if I went with some of the linked dresses currently in style in the frum world. |
Ok I get it. You abhor Jewish styles

As long as you don't accessorize with red, I don't see the problem.

That's what I was going to say. π I think it's a beautiful dress and doesn't look xmas-y at all.

But many sizes are sold out
This one is available in all sizes

Would look really pretty with a white ribbed turtleneck or thicker material shell underneath
If you must go with that green dress then please remove the bow. You can put a black or white sash on but to wear it as is will look very very holidayish |
Tam v'reach...
IMO, these dresses are ridiculous and unflattering, and I think there's a high probability of a child getting food on the poufy tulle sleeves of the first one while trying to eat food at a kiddush. And what are those raggedy bows stuck to the skirt of that second outfit?
I guess I just tend toward simple, more classical styles that can be easily worn and easily passed down.
I think the OP's green velvet choice is fine. Maybe remove the bow and add a belt.
