A relative of mine had Medicare for hospitals only and was injured. For some reason a small part of the 24 hour stay/ procedures done wasn’t covered. We never took care of it and it went to collections agency. At this point is there any way to reduce the amount owed? Anyone know what or where I can turn to?
The total bill is approximately 2,500 (the hospital got paid I think over 20,000)

Call the collection agency, they usually will reduce it if you pay on the spot or will set up a payment plan. You can knock those down pretty low, stretch it over a few years if you need to and are assertive and polite.
