We'd love to go away the week between camp and school. Looking for a trip up to 5 hours driving from Lakewood area, good for a family with a bunch of under 10-year-olds.
We are pretty chilled, and have almost no hasagos for fancy trips. Kids are thrilled with hotel pools, playgrounds and parks, zoos, places like Legoland; no need for amusement or theme parks, etc.
Access to kosher food is a plus but not a make-or-break. Same for shuls.
TIA!

Vermont (gorgeous natural beauty, plus check out storybook land)
New Hampshire (ditto, more Jewish presence)
Finger lake region in upstate NY (I’ve heard ppl go to lake placid too though I’ve never been)
Ithaca has wonderful nature and plenty of good old fashioned fun things to do
Or go down south to Baltimore via Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel and Delaware car ferry for a fun ride! Then Washington DC, lots of free museums. You can even go further to Norfolk VA
Gettysburg is beautiful and historical
Pennsylvania is gorgeous and so varied. Poconos are just the start
Rhode Island is supposedly beautiful and full of charm and things to do
Draw a 5 hour travel time circle on a google map, then consider every destination within that circle :-)

Lancaster is definetly the most fun for the under 10 set!
In the past few years, we've gone to the following vacation spots:
Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Deep Creek Lake (MD), Jiminy Peak, Cape Cod, Boston, rhode Island, Cape cod.
They are all special and have their own fun things, but Lancaster is great for the age you're talking about.

Any hotel recommendations in Lancaster?
