Ds loves dairy products but needs lactaid to digest. I always have these enzyme pills on hand for when he eats cereal and milk, pizza, whatever. He even brings a few to school.
I read in blumenkranz book that these lactaid pills are problematic on Pesach. He recommends putting lactose drops into milk, and I don’t know where to get those. Or buy lactose free milk, which ds hates the taste.
I’m looking for an alternative solution for him for when he want to eat cheese, cheese snack, leben, yogurt, etc. anyone else have this issue and can recommend a kosher le Pesach lactose pill?
TIA!

I was told they are fine for pesach. I would discuss with a rabbi rather than rely on a book

The OU states that "medications in the forms of ...pills...may be owned, used and consumed on Pesach even if they contain chametz or kitniyot since they are inedible."

Oh wow.. I just came on here to post the same thing
DD just drank a cup of chocolate milk without taking her pill and spent the next hour and a half in the bathroom. She doesn’t eat any chicken, meat or fish so being able to have dairy with the help of a pill has been a lifesaver. Pesach is always a problem because the food is somewhat limited and especially for her with her eating issues. She either walks around starving on pesach or has some dairy and suffers the consequences.
I spoke to a vitamin specialist and we looked into the enzyme pill and it is clearly kitniyos.
According to my rav and many rabbanim, taking regular medication in the form of a pill even if kitniyos is permitted. Taking vitamins and supplements is not.

Do you know who said they’re fine?

Maxi health has 2 digestive vitamins that are kosher for pesach this year. One is for constipation and the other is an anti acid vitamin. Neither would be good for lactose intolerance.
