We're looking to go to Lancaster. Last week of August. I have 5 kids ka"h ages 8 and under. I don't know the first thing about Lancaster, and we're kind of on a budget. We never go away anywhere but we feel it's time to take two or three days and actually do something like this with the kids. Any recommendations where to stay and what to do? How to plan it out?
Thank you!!

I booked a house on Lincoln condo reservations in New Hampshire for the beginning of August. What attractions are good to do there with three children ages 8, 7 and 3?

Looking for a vacation for 2 nights with DH.
Spending limit around $100 a night, looking for a place with a private pool if possible.
3 to 4 hour drive from NY or less.
near waterfalls, beaches, easy hikes or nature paths.
We can bring our own food.

we might be going to east brunswick and passaic area to visit family. the issue is that while I'll have access to a car I don't feel comfortable driving much in NJ especially in someone else's car. is there anything to do very close by or is there anyplace we can stay like an hour away that would have easy hikes, nature programs... very close to where the cabin is that we can go for one or two days. Ages 9 and 4.5 husband will most probably be working the whole time.
Thank you!

Have they ever hiked? Some of my favorites for that age:
Basin and Cascades
Go partway up the Falling Waters trail
Artist's Bluff, Cannon Mountain
Clark's Bears
Scenic railroad

We went hiking when kids were little in Hacklebarney State Park, which is an hour or less from you. The Turtleback Zoo is also a great option, and you can add on the on-site ropes course if you like.

I like to stay in center city but that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I’ve stayed in residence In and Embassy Suites, as well as kimpton and Wyndham (but the latter 2 are hotel rooms and not suites)
