Wow. Most of you prefer underripe bananas as adults. Interesting.

I like the taste from when it’s ripe till it’s brown but I can’t stand mushy bananas.there’s two days I can eat them.
But I love banana flavored stuff

Bananas are:
okay when they're green
best when perfectly yellow
pretty good with some brown spots
when very overripe, they're amazing in banana cake with lots of chocolate chips.
Bananas DO NOT belong in smoothies.
Or in candy.
They should not be eaten dry.
Bananas, like many other fruits, are okay when not fully ripe, in fact there are some advantages.
If you've never experienced the puckering experience of an unripe kiwi, you're missing out on life.

Also loved it as a child I always told my mother to make sure to get the green bananas. I like the bittersweet taste and firm texture.

Very funny you should ask.
Because normally I like them with just a tinge of green, not too sweet, not at all ripe.
DH will eat them when they're pretty ripe, and when they start to look almost over-ripe, I peel, slice & freeze on a plastic plate. I may, one day, find an easy recipe I like for banana bread, but meanwhile DH usually puts them in a smoothie.
Today, however, I decided that my chocolate shakes may be keeping me awake, so I decided to do vanilla. However it doesn't get the cream thickness of the chocolate, so I decided to throw in the one banana from the freezer. Lots of vanilla, cinnamon & ginger. Not a very banana-y taste.

I literally gag from the smell.
There are other foods that I dislike but I can tolerate when others eat. It is only bananas that elicit this visceral, physical reaction. |
I'm like that, too. Been like that since childhood. Turns out I am very highly allergic! I learned that as an adult when a kid touched me with banana on their hands... Allergist said that physical, repulsed, nauseous reaction of my body reacting to the smell is a mild allergic reaction to its airborne particles.

Me, too. I cannot stand bananas or their smell. Banana cream pie seems like a waste of good whipped cream. I have fed them to my children and grandchild, but otherwise will not even handle the skin. My family knows to keep them away from me. Funny how some foods repulse people while others love them. Israeli video was cute.

Fun banana fact.
The Laffy taffy banana flavor was the flavor of bananas until the mid 1960s.
Then there was a terrible banana plague that killed off most of the bananas.
The modern banana of today is disease resistant
But doesn't have the strong sweet taste of the previous type banana which was like banana flavored candy.
It Was called the Gros Michel banana. 1890-1960
