I never take a wig box when going on vacation. It always goes in a bag.

Put it in a shoebox
Or wear it to your destination and then lay it flat when you switch to a snood if you don’t want to bring a head for it

Wear it to your destination, and when you’re ready to take it off that day or at night take a collapsible traveling wig head stand

I lay sheitle, empty cap side up, on top of couple large sheets tissue paper, then gently, loosely roll from cap into itself towards bottom of sheitle (so there's tissue paper between sheitle layers) & place into plastic shoe box, cover with lid & keep in carry on.
Has room to move around & not get smooshed, stays neat.

If not lace then for sure!
If it is lace, I pack in carry on in a shoe box

I haven’t used a wig box in 20 yrs. I wear it or roll it up jelly roll style and pack it . I guess it depends if you have a very set style or not
