Anon because knowing me, I'll end up telling all and sundry that I made these.

This is the recipe that I used. Super easy!!
https://msshiandmrhe.com/fruit-roll-ups/

Read her recipe and follow her steps, but in sum, you basically puree fruit, add a tbsp lemon per pound of fruit, then add sugar to taste (I used a bit of maple syrup with strawberries. The apples were sweet enough without added sugar. You want to taste after pureeing.) You then spread very very thin on parchment paper and bake on 170f for 8 hours.

You can add some frying step before baking and then only bake for 4 hours. For me it was easier to just put in the oven overnight.

I ended up cutting into strips leaving the organic parchment paper on and rolling each one up, like she recommended. My toddler is obsessed!

I only tried with fresh strawberries, apples that were fine but not in their prime, and a few oranges. The strawberries were beyond perfect. The apples tasted fine but ended up being a bit dry and look more cracked. I actually should have known because they looked dryish after I pureed them. Haven't tasted the orange yet.

First pic is before I cut them. You can see how nice the strawberry looks. The apple is the dry one. The orange looks okay, it's the bit in between. Obviously I initially blended the fruit separately so that I could put them next to each other and you can have rolls with different colours in them.

In sum, 10/10 highly recommend. Go crazier than I did. Do some with different colours, blueberries, pineapple, use fresher apples lol. Probably makes a good kid activity too, minus the part where you bake it for 8 hours. Or reframe it as teaching patience.

Oh, and by the way, maybe the following doesn't belong in healthy cooking, but I found that site once when I was looking for a mochi recipe. Still haven't made it because I instead spent hours looking through her website. If you're the type of person who loves making fancy desserts and food presentation, start clicking away. I'm not that type of person (to make them- I love eating them!) but that site has me convinced I'm totally going to do it, hence a million open tabs that I can't bring myself to close for months.

Giant strawberry macaron cake? Sure, I'll do it! No, I don't own a piping bag, a piping tip, or a food thermometer. Maybe I'll buy them. I'll just leave this tab open on my phone and never ever close it in case I a tornado picks me up and I happen to land (with my phone, of course!) in a store that caters to people who buy these sorts of things.

Edible sugar glass with flowers! Oh my God. Isn't this beautiful. Who's eating this but wouldn't it be gorgeous! It needs a candy thermometer. This may be different from a food thermometer. Maybe that tornado will be extra gracious in deciding where to deposit me.

Not to be confused with edible crystals

These orange cookies with real oranges are totally doable though, I'm not even sure why I haven't done them yet. No mixer needed! Although I just used up all our oranges on the fruit roll up and I don't have powdered sugar (is that the same thing as confectionery sugar?)

The no-bake bread cake looks like something else. What to do with your leftover toast? lol. Who has leftover toast? But this could work for leftover challah .

Okay, enough. I'm done clicking around but only because my toddler is calling me. I just hope someone on here makes even one of her over-patchkahd-but-looks-so-easy desserts so that I can live vicariously through them. Or who knows. Maybe one day I will.
