My 3 year old just got his first yeshivish style haircut, and he looks almost bald. We asked for a 5 on the trimmer. That’s what we use for my other boys, and older boys use 3 or 4, but my little one has very thin hair and very light color, so now he looks half bald.
What number or style should I ask for next time?

You’ll probably do best with using a scissor for most of his head rather than a machine. Definitely for the front.

Thanks. I can try just scissors for the front. But the sides and top and back also look so so thin. Any style to make it look thicker? Or it is what it is, and he’s always still adorable anyway!

I had a kid like that. Go for a much higher number next time, you can always redo it with a lower number if necessary.

Supposedly if you keep cutting it it will get thicker

Does he have bangs?

I do 2-3. Then again, I don’t mind the almost bald look. I think it’s cute!

I would get someone to cut his hair without a machine. 5 is pretty long. My kids have thick dark hair and even with a 2 don't look remotely bald.
