I'm looking for a unicorn of an eggplant dip. Yes I can make my own but sometimes my back hurts too much/I don't have time/etc. I'm trying to find something like plain roasted eggplant but without any mayo, tomato, or smokey flavor. The closest I've found is Sonny & Joes babatahini dip, but would anyone know of something else?

There's jars of grilled eggplant, I see them in bingo in the canned aisle. Don't remember the company, maybe Gail?

I know you said you don't want to make it, but just an idea for when you do.

My favorite way is to cube the eggplant, roast it with oil and salt, and mix with lots of fresh parsley and dill and fresh minced garlic.

So delicious and easy!

I've tried various brands and have found them all to have a smokey flavor. Is there one you know of that doesn't?

Halve eggplant lengthwise. Place cut side down on parchment lined pan. Bake until soft. Scoop out of skin. Freeze for when you don't have time.

I don't have a source but authentic Baba Ganoush has no tomatoes or eggplants and when I have eaten at a good restaurant doesn't have what I would call a "smoky taste".

You should try something called Baba Ganoush and see if that is to your taste.
