I’m looking for a book or workbook to help a child who tends to go into a fight or flight type of response and tends to be unable to properly respond to minor (or not minor) things.
Some examples: boy is bothering him he’ll just stand there instead of walking away continuously, someone took the last yogurt in the flavor he likes, he’ll blow a cork and take an hour to calm down. These are just some examples to clarify what I am looking for

I'm thinking he needs more of somatic exercises than a workbook. Because what your citing are trauma responses which are stored in the body not cognitive responses which are rooted in the mind.

Curious why people think walking away from a bully is the way to go. Personal experience the bully uses it to their advantage and bothers the kid just so they can get them to move.

Sometimes. But usually the bully is looking for an emotional or physical response.
I always tell me kids, you can't fight with a wall. If someone is constant bothering you or trying to instigate fights, just walk away. Calm yourself down and pretend like it never happened. Eventually the bully will move onto other targets.

The zones of emotional regulation is really good. I’ve had success using it with boys around age 8-10
