Ds6 had a diarrheal attack yesterday in school. I washed his clothes a few times but it still smells. I don't have fabric softener but I guess I can buy and try to see if it helps. What would be effective?

Try adding half a cup of vinegar to the washing machine (also detergent). Or even a whole cup.

All of the above and hang to dry outdoors for as long as it takes.

Baking soda and vinegar again and again
Shouldn’t take too many times
Don’t dry in dryer
Fabric softener won’t take away smell just add perfumed scent but the underlying smell will still be there
If it’s still bad after a few times consider dumping in garbage
