Since Covid a lot of rules changed. I looked online to see how my son can get his permit. It seems a bit confusing to me. Did anybody try getting a driver’s permit this year? Do you have to go to the DMV? Can you take the test online? I live in Brooklyn but my son dorms in NJ. I have to figure out the most practical way to go about it.
If anyone can help me understand the procedure I would appreciate it!

You can take the test online but you would still need to go to the DMV to submit your application and documents. You can make an appointment online. If you have AAA it’s even easier you can make an appointment to do it in their regional office.
