Well it’s not your minhag and it’s not the minhag of anyone you know so it’s not something you have to follow.
Maybe it’s something to take into consideration for the wedding but certainly not for Sheva brochos!
You do realize that many people will attend your simcha wearing those colors?
Please don’t think about.

This does not make any sense at all. They plan to write on wedding invitations and sheva brachos invitations not to wear those colors?

Idk how small of a subset have this minhag, but not a big deal to choose a different color. Go see what stores/gemachs are having right now, those are the easiest ways to choose from what is easily available color wise.
But past the actual wedding you do you. Only kallah might want to keep new family minhagim for the Sheva brachos too.

This woman is playing you for a fool. There is no such minhag. Evidently she doesn't like those colors and thinks you're gullible enough to believe her. It's not red and green for a December wedding after all.
