House had some damageand we filed an insurance claim. Adjuster already came down with the insurance person to inspect etc, waiting to hear back how much they will compensate.
In the meantime, I do not want to start any work on my home unless we move out (it's not major work but will cause mess and stress and I have small kids that need freedom to run around)
Adjuster said he can try to request insurance to cover a rental for us if we provide a copy of potential lease agreement. (We figured once we are moving out we can do other work on the house as well, I just don't know how many days they would approve, if any,?)
Does anyone have experience with this? Adjuster is being vague and I want to make sure I am not missing something. Will this cause my insurance eto go up in the future (basically requesting another $10k or so for a rental)
Will insuranceq pay the rental directly or will they just issue me money? Will they request receipts? I just don't know why the adjuster is being vague, and whether I am doing something that will mess me up.
All input is appreciated.
