You can definitely do it online on Spirit. The first passenger is an 'adult' and you can enter their correct birthday and the second is a child.

For international flights, you don't need a companion. You get registered as an unaccompanied minor & airport personal & flight attendants are supposed to look after the kids. I don't know how long ago you traveled, but this is protocol nowadays.
