Hi! I’m expecting my second IYH soon and I feel dumb asking these questions IRL cuz I should know from my first but I was in such a haze don’t remember anything.

How often to feed a newborn? I know, when they’re hungry, but approximately? Is it different during the day and at night?

How often to change diaper? Dirty diapers right away but what if just wet?

How do you store and warm up pumped breast milk?

When can I give first bath?

I just had my second, besha tova!
Not dumb questions at all.

I feed on demand. When baby wakes up from her nap I feed her (nursing). I do not wake to feed.
I change her diaper when I feel its full. Would I want to sit in a wet diaper? Nope, so I change her when its full. Usually before a diaper feed so she isnt uncomfortable.
Pumped milk I put in medela bags and freeze for later when I return to work, or if I want my husband to give the baby a bottle so I can rest.
I warm up breastmilk by placing those bags into a bowl of warm water.
I give the first bath when her umbilical cord falls off. This time it fell off about a week later. But I do wash her neck with warm water since milk gets there.

Newborns often cluster feed but generally it’s every 2-3 hours but the time counts from the beginning of the feed and they are often slow and sleepy feeders so it feels like you are feeding them all the time

I don’t change pee diapers at night since I want them to get used to sleeping with a wet diaper at night

They often have their days and nights confused in the beginning
