I am loosing my mind! Please help.
I have changed away from plastic tupperware to glass.
I splurged on the brilliance collection and love them. However. No matter what I do, I cant get the plastic covers to smell fresh! I dishwash in the hottest cycle and they always smell like cholent-y. Maybe chili. I don't know, that sort of smell. They are not old. Neither is my dishwasher. The glass comes out very fresh.
Any ideas?

Plastic absorbs odors, period. I have read that crumpled newspaper put into a lidded plastic container and left for a few days will absorb or neutralize the odor. I never tried this so can't tell you if it works but it costs you nothing to try. My deodorizer of choice would be baking soda, sprinkled in a container and left for several days. Vinegar is also a deodorizer, and I would use it the same way--leave it in the container for a few days.

Doesn't help your current problem, but I often put a layer of parchment paper under the lid is particularly staining or strong foods.

Try scrubbing it with just dawn dish soap, no water, and then rinse
