I have an adorable almost 7 year old daughter. She loves to play and had a huge imagination.
The issue is that I need to consistently remind her during the the course of the day to get going.
This is in the morning, getting her off to school, homework, bedtime ect. Every step of the way she needs encouragement.
I have other children that need attention so I can't be constantly on top of her and I also imagine this is affecting our relationship.
How do you encourage some independence?

A daily schedule with pictures and an incentive to follow it .

I found buying my young ones a digital watch made them more cognizant of time and definitely a bit more responsible. If it is followed up with a very clear schedule with your expectations for each time then it really works.

It's not independence you're looking for. It's executive functioning skills like time management, following a schedule, prioritizing, task switching, or whatever else. So you need to teach or scaffold the skill.

Bumping this up.
Another example. After her shower she will literally sit in a towel unless I tell her to get into pj's.

She has executive functioning issues. She needs help.
