Are you planning to be there during the week or on Shabbos, and do you know or care which Chabad house? We were there several years ago, but only midweek. I seem to recall that shacharis was at one Chabad in downtown NO, while mincha/maariv was at a different one in a suburb called Metairie. We ended up staying in Metairie since it was close to the restaurant/grocery store, and DH went early in the morning to shacharis downtown.

If you need to be walking distance, check out the Chabad websites, which probably list nearby hotel options. Also be very careful that a few of the supposedly kosher establishments were under the supervision of a local Rabbi who was ordained by Chovavei (open Orthodox), which is generally not accepted. So do your homework beforehand to find out where you can reliably get food.
