Im totally failing this parenting thing

I think that might be a large part of it.

First few times they forgot a shower, I woke them in the middle of the night with tickles and made them do it. they were not the happiest about that. if they don't pack snacks, they're hungry the next day in school. I hope that doesn't make me a mean mom.

setting the table Friday, they get heaps and heaps and heaps of praise from me and tatty and all the grandparents -- that being said some weeks I do help them out more with it, especially if the clock is rushing and I don't have time for them to bring the cutlery to the table one at a time.

Might be a nature vs nurture thing. I like to think it's me but it might also really their nature to follow structure -- I wonder if I would have done the same at their age? I remember my mother endlessly nagging me despite me knowing what my chores were.

Maybe have a nail clipper in every single room, hidden on a high shelf. That's a lot of nail clippers, but they are not expensive. Then when the idea comes, to cut somebody's nails, it's right there. No going to find one in the bathroom. Because, by that time, the nail-clip-ee has escaped, and the moment has passed.

Every mom feels like that.
But Hashem knows better and trusted your kids to you. Breathe and remember this every time you think you are failing. You are capable, you can do this, Hashem trusts you so you should too.
