It's not until the next one for me. I have a baby under a year as well as a 4 year old and they're both babies to me.
Maybe my answer is until 5.

In general I feel like people should treat their kids like babies the longer the better 😁 obviously in a normal way so don't come at me. I just mean when your 5 year old tantrums it's normal, your 6 year old doesn't want to dress themselves it's normal, 7 year old doesn't want to sit in a certain seat.....

Around age 3 they start to understand the world and can do for themselves. Usually toilet trained by 3. I think of babies as needy beings. Around 3 they become less needy. Some kids are precocious or delayed but typical kids are somewhat independent at 3. As any playgroup morah of 2 year olds. She will tell you about the transition from 2 to 3. And it's not even about how much they communicate. They suddenly become social and know what they want.

Yes to this. Until 3 they need lots of emotional support and that’s why I call them a baby. That’s also why I don’t send my 2 year old to playgroup.

So if you have a baby and the one before is 13 months old, he isn't a baby?

Our oldest was an only child for many years due to infertility. Likely the same for our second. I don't call them babies until the next kid because who knows if there will even be one.

For me, once they are walking and talking more than just individual words, they aren't really babies anymore. So around 2 or so.

Depends on the kid. It's about maturity and development, not age. Some four-year-olds are little adults while some forty-year-olds are big babies.

Until they start walking. Once walking they’re a toddler and no longer a baby.

I just had a baby, and when I was in the hospital, I told the doctor that my husband went to drop off my baby’s car seat (where she was staying).

The doctor was a bit confused, till I corrected, “sorry my 3 year old”. She is still my baby!

All my kids are my babies (ages 6-21).
My mother still introduces me to people as her baby!
